Two outstanding articles, not to be missed - by Liam Halligan[1] and Zerohedge[2].

Liam urges the public to take matters into their own hands and ZeroHedge reminds us of the trillions that Spain owes.

Meanwhile, Bruce Anderson tells us:
[3]

"It is wrong to assume that politicians are a race of superhumans, immunne to vanities or insecurities. They are like the rest of us. If you prick them, they bleed."
But it is we who pay for their 'mistakes'. I don't see bankers, regulators or politicos being held to account for their errors. Do you? Instead, we are paying for the compounding of the catastrophic 'errors' of the incumbents' predecessors - by way of tax increases and loss of liberty.

If they don't want the consequences of taking political decisions - from which they've immunised themselves - then they should give us a say. But they won't do that, will they?

They deserve no sympathy. And besides, we've given Cameron and Osborne the benefit of the doubt far too often. Each time they have let us down.

As Liam Halligan says:
[4]

"How much longer can our leaders dodge the really tough decisions? As long as we keep letting them, I say. "

Indeed.

Starve the beast[5].
