On Morning Joe today there was a continuation of the strange separation of Joe and Mika with Mika taking over most of the hosting duties. It appears Morning Joe is having problems booking quality guests, and some of the old regulars no longer show up. I suspect that within political circles some of the old guests are protecting their reputations. Scarborough might be distancing himself from the progressive bias of his own show. The bias is beginning to show like a unzipped zipper, along with the national bias shown throughout media. That bias was on full display today. Scarborough seems diappointed in the fact that Romney is the GOP candidate for President -- he thinks Romney is a target for criticism because of the Wall Street/1% associations that come with Romney's past. The Morning Joe crew, Harold Ford, Dan Senor (this morning's token Rightie), then later Joe Klein and a few other fading stars on the Left, talked incessantly about the current media/Administration/Washington Political Machine attack on Romney's past with Bain, when Romney left Bain, how much Romney was involved in outsourcing and why Romney won't release more tax returns. They showed clips of Republicans over the weekend saying that Romney must show more tax returns, more than he's legally required to show. But, these were Republicans like Bill Kristol, so that's about like Scarborough's criticism of Romney -- it comes from a place that's mostly compomised with the Left-controlled Political Machine. Here's the deal. No matter which Republican candidate had been selected, media and the Political Machine that protects the current power-holders of the State, mostly social democrats who are anti-free market capitalism, would attack the candidate on whatever is made up at the time which seems to the Left like a good attack to obscure the issues and divert attention from the problems of statism created by the current power-holders in government (whew, a long sentence). If Romney turns over 4 more years of tax returns, they will ask for 8, and so on. Nothing Romney says or does will be enough, according to the obscurantists. The only question is whether the Political Machine still works. There's evidence in 2012 that the Information Age has matured to the point that the Political Machine is impotent, and, in many respects, backfiring. New Media which have used the internet to go around the MSM may be reaching enough people, who are then having local conversations and spreading the word, so that the Political machine comes off looking like what it is, a Propaganda Machine.
