We witness government officials lie to us on a regular basis, and history books show how governments throughout history have manipulated the people of the governed nations, especially when dealing with armed conflicts and all out wars. Why, after Iraq and Afghanistan, would the American people believe any justification for helping the Syrian rebels? Americans should demand a full scale objective investigation regarding our over-sea's interventions, drone attacks and expenditures. The military-industrial complex has gone wild since 9/11. 9/11 was certainly a frightening, horrific experience -- however, we can't turn a blind eye to military operations just because there's chance of terrorist attack in America. We have too much to lose by trading liberty for safety. We have to wonder, also, if what the military/industrial complex is doing at this point enhances our safety. In one country after another, Islamic radicals are taking control of the countries in which we've intervened. Why are we causing the waste of human life and the expenditure of billions of dollars for these outcomes? Not only is it morally wrong, it's practically insane. ReferencesFG_AUTHORS: M. Farmer |
