Even when DC pundits, journalists and the assorted intellectuals in DC try to "get real" and drill down to the bottom line, they wind up patronizing people, many who are smarter than the patronizers. The American people can be concerned with a lot of things, and many Americans have good jobs. I think both parties use this line, which accuses the other side of changing the topic off the economy, in an attempt to change the topic off something else unflattering or damaging to the campaigns. Even some Centrist Republicans have said the Fast and Furious controversy diverts attention from the economy and can backfire on Republicans. I think the American people are perfectly capable of keeping up with the Fast and Furious scandal as well as the reasons for the poor economy. Neither one is good for Obama. FG_AUTHORS: M. Farmer |
